HUD Shares Updates on HIP and HOTMA Implementation
HUD’s office of PIH has released updates on the Housing Information Portal system, which will be required for full HOTMA implementation, as well as actions PHAs can take now. NMA’s Samantha Sowards has written an article on HOTMA compliance timelines. Read more
HUD Issues Final Rule on Faith-Based and Neighborhood Organizations
A new final rule titled “Partnerships with Faith-Based and Neighborhood Organizations,” released in conjunction with several other departments, clarifies protections for current and prospective beneficiaries of federal programs in relation to organizations providing federally funded services. HUD Clarifies Banned Fees, Provides Resources to Prevent Eviction
New resources from HUD clarify policies and laws prohibiting certain non-rent fees in federally funded programs. PD&R to Hold Quarterly Update Event on Local Government Innovation
HUD’s Office of Policy Development and Research’s quarterly events will focus on how local governments are finding innovative ways to meet community housing needs. The first, scheduled for Thursday, March 21, will include a panel on Montgomery County, MD’s bond-financed Housing Production Fund. Read more
