New ERAP division of NMA promises solutions
The Emergency Rental Assistance Program (ERAP) helps households who have lost income due to COVID-19 receive funding and stay in their homes. It's a big help for renters — but for state and local governments, it can be challenging to disburse these funds.
NMA’s new division is here to help
The new ERAP division of NMA administers Coronavirus Relief Funds (CRF) on behalf of state and local governments and agencies. These include funds dedicated to emergency rental assistance, small business and non-profit relief, and support for local governments, education, and hospitals.
A natural transition for NMA
Pre-established operational infrastructure: We're already set up to easily deploy support teams to handle CRF distribution, as well as monitoring and compliance of fund distribution.
Robust end-to-end service: We'll assist with program policy and procedures, provide a dedicated customer service call center, and bring along a robust application processing platform.
Efficiency: With the urgency to allocate the available funds by September 30, 2021, NMA is able to support the efficient distribution of funds by state and local governments while assuring compliance with all policy and regulations.
Experience: NMA has a long history of administering Housing Choice Voucher and other assisted housing programs for affordable housing agencies, and is well versed in the intricacies of determining eligibility and expending program funding.
NMA is currently distributing more than $150 million in Emergency Rental Assistance to nearly 30,000 families across four government agencies. In addition, we're supporting several states with the distribution of more than $4 billion in CRF grants to small and minority businesses, non-profits, hospital and educational systems, and local government agencies.
