HUD Cuts Red Tape to Help Communities Respond to Hurricane
With a package of 27 regulatory and administrative waivers—one of the largest collections of such waivers ever administered at once—HUD aims to help communities accelerate their recovery from Hurricane Ida. New flexibilities allow HUD’s state and local partners to expedite the use of CDBG, HOME, HOPWA, and ESG program funds. HUD Approves Disaster Mitigation Plan to Build Resilience to Future Wildfires in California
HUD has signed off on California’s second CDBG Program Action Plan, approving the state’s proposed uses of previously allocated disaster mitigation funds. Potential projects include funding for local governments and non-profit organizations to inform the public on related activities. Read article
