PIH Issues Notice on Cost-Savings Measures 

Notice 2025-28 provides guidance for PHAs on reducing HAP expenses and preventing funding shortfalls in three given categories: standard regulatory compliance and sound program management practices; additional actions PHAs may consider; and cost saving actions requiring HUD approval. Read more

HUD Extends Compliance Dates to Adopts Energy Efficiency Standards 

HUD has extended the compliance dates for energy efficiency standards for new construction in HUD-financed programs to May 28, 2026 for the following programs: FHA-Insured Multifamily, FHA-Insured Single Family, Public Housing Capital Fund, and Section 8 PBV. Read more

 

NFHA Issues Annual Report on Fair Housing Trends 

The National Fair Housing Alliance’s 2025 Fair Housing Trends Report reveals that 32, 321 housing discrimination complaints were filed in the United States in 2024. The report includes information on handling of cases, demographics affected by complaints, retaliation, and AI risks. Read more
