HUD Issues PIH Implementation Notice

Notice PIH 2024-12 covers how PHAs and their software vendors will transition from the Inventory Management System/PIH Information Center to the Housing Information Portal. The official system of record will help determine grant amounts for Public Housing Capital Fund and Operating Fund, and assess statutory and regulatory compliance in programs such as Public Housing, HCV, and Mod Rehab programs. HUD Issues Federal Flood Risk Management Standard Final Rule

A new rule titled “Federal Flood Risk Management Standard,” released in the Federal Register, helps communities prepare for and reduce damage from floods and other severe weather events. The effective date is May 23, 2024; PHAs have until June 24, 2024 to comply, with extended compliance deadlines for certain HUD programs. Read more

 

PIH Issues Notice on VMS Reporting Requirements for MTW PHAs

Notice PIH 2024-11 informs Moving to Work PHAs of new reporting requirements for planned uses of MTW HCV reserves in the Voucher Management System. The notice supports “ongoing efforts to improve transparency and oversight of MTW HCV utilization” and is effective for the June 30, 2024, calendar year quarter end date reporting cycle. HUD Seeks Comments on Proposed Methodology for Annual Inflationary Adjustments to Income Calculations

A notice in the Federal Register announces HUD is soliciting comments on a proposed method for making annual inflation adjustments to certain values used to make income, asset, and eligibility determinations in numerous HUD subsidized housing programs, as established in the HOTMA final rule. These terms would apply to income determination with an effective date on or after January 1, 2025. Comments are due by May 17, 2024. Read more
