PIH Issues Notice on Personal Property Requirements

Notice PIH 2022-37 presents personal property requirements under 2 CFR Part 200, specifically regarding equipment and supplies. The notice gives definitions for “personal property,” “equipment,” and “supplies” and outlines regulations for PHAs. Read notice

 

PIH Issues Notice on Section 3 Rule Implementation

Notice PIH 2022-38 provides supplementary reporting guidance to Notice PIH 2022-10 on the implementation of the Section 3 final rule. This new information on tracking and reporting requirements delays the compliance date until further notice; clarifies that PHAs won’t be able to, and are not required to, report on certain Section 3 compliance efforts until the successor system to SPEARS is available; and explains that PHAs must retain on-site records of Section 3 activities and be prepared to provide them to HUD on request. HUD Seeking First-of-Its-Kind Public Input to More Equitably and Accurately Allocate Disaster Recovery Funds

HUD is asking the public for feedback on how to simplify, modernize, and more equitably distribute CDBG-DR and CDBG-MIT funds, both of which focus on long-term recovery and resilience efforts. Feedback from these Requests for Information will inform policy that aims to reduce the time from the occurrence of a disaster to the availability of funds for physical housing recovery. HUD Releases 2022 Annual Homeless Assessment Report

HUD has released to Congress Part 1 of its Annual Homeless Assessment Report. While the report shows a small (.3%) increase in the number of people experiencing homelessness from 2020 to 2022, homelessness decreased among youth, veterans, and families. Read article
