HUD released the 2020 Annual Homeless Assessment Report Part 1
Key findings include a 2.2% rise from 2019 in people experiencing homelessness on a single night, veteran homelessness did not decrease in 2020, youth homelessness saw a 2.2% decrease from 2019, African Americans and indigenous people (including Native Americans and Pacific Islanders) were considerably overrepresented among the homeless population, and 23% of all people experiencing homelessness were Hispanic or Latino. The U.S. Department of the Treasury released a revised Emergency Rental Assistance (ERA) FAQ document
Revised on March 16, 2021, the updated document includes guidance on the following topics, rental security deposits, hotel and motel stays, rent-to-own agreements, and manufactured housing. Read more
HUD Exchange posted six HOME Reports
The reports include Post 2011 HOME Activities Reports, Post 2011 HOME Homebuyer Activities Report, HOME PJs Open Activities Reports, HOME PJs Vacant Units Reports, HOME Grant Specific Commitment and Disbursement Summary Report, and HOME Deadline Compliance Status Reports. HUD announced a $450 million investment in Indian Housing Block Grants (IHBG) to help Tribal Communities respond to COVID-19
HUD Secretary Marcia L. Fudge announced the funds on Thursday, March 25, 2021. The grants will be used for affordable housing activities that provide COVID-19 safety measures for Tribal members and communities. Read more
