Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) updates eviction moratorium FAQs for HUD’s Office of Public and Indian Housing
The newest version, published on January 8, provides updates to three FAQs dealing with applicability and the Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) Program. Read more
HUD announces $10 million in capacity building grants for rural America
These grants will help five national non-profit organizations create affordable housing and stimulate community development for low-income families and individuals in rural areas. Read more
PIH informs public housing agency directors of extended CDC eviction moratorium
The notice states the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) extended the eviction moratorium to January 31, 2021. Tenants must sign a declaration that is attached to the CDC Order to receive this eviction protection. Read more
Governor Cuomo signs the COVID-19 Emergency Eviction and Foreclosure Prevention Act of 2020
This act prevents residential evictions, foreclosure proceedings, credit discrimination, and negative credit reporting related to the pandemic. The moratorium on residential evictions goes into effect until May 1, 2021 for tenants who submitted a hardship declaration or a document explaining the source of the hardship. Read more
