HUD Releases HOTMA Final Rule

HUD has released a prepublication copy of the final rule implementing Sections 102, 103, and 104 of the Housing Opportunity Through Modernization Act of 2016 (HOTMA). Extensive changes made in these sections will particularly affect income calculation and reviews in the HCV, PBV, public housing, and Multifamily programs. Read article

HUD Posts Interactive Diagram on Fair Housing Complaint Process

HUD’s Office of Fair Housing and Equal Opportunity has posted a six-page resource to help housing providers understand their obligations in a Fair Housing Act investigation. Read article

 

HUD Announces New Resources for Advancing Housing Protections for Survivors of Domestic Violence, Dating Violence, Sexual Assault, and Stalking 

Resources include a new VAWA website, a notice laying out HUD’s enforcement authority under VAWA, and additional funding to provide VAWA training and technical assistance to HUD grantees and stakeholders. The website provides information for both survivors and housing providers. Read article
