Justice Department: Certain Housing Programs May Violate Federal Law
The Department of Justice issued a letter to state and local government agencies explaining why “crime-free” or “nuisance” programs might violate federal fair housing protections, including the Fair Housing Act, Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, ADA, and VAWA. Read more

PIH Issues Notice on the Rate Reduction Incentive in Public Housing
Notice PIH 2024-31 supplements information in the current Energy Performance Contracting, Utility Partnership Program, and operating fund grant processing notices. This notice establishes one RRI application submission deadline per funding year, reorganizes and clarifies information, provides application guidance, addresses negative RRI savings, and outlines limitations of certain incentives.
