HUD Updates Flat Rent Exception Request Submission Requirements
Notice PIH 2022-33 applies to the Public Housing program. This notice supersedes the guidance provided in Notice PIH 2021-27 related to flat rents and supplements the streamlining final rule published in 2016. Read notice
HUD Publishes 2023 OCAFs
Operating cost adjustment factors (OCAFs) for project-based assistance contracts for eligible multifamily housing projects with anniversary dates on or after February 11, 2023 have been established in a recent Federal Register notice. Read article
HUD Releases 2023 Public Housing Management Fee Table
HUD’s Financial Management Division has released the Calendar Year 2023 80th percentile management fees for public housing. The schedule includes a table for PHAs with a central office cost center and a table for those without. A new paper published in the Journal of Public Health Management and Practice, “Tenant-Based Housing Voucher Programs: A Community Guide Systematic Review,” assesses the impact of HCV programs on housing stability, neighborhood opportunity, and health. The paper uses seven separate studies that compared outcomes for HCV households and households not receiving vouchers. NLIHC reports on the findings. Read article
HUD Closes Rental Assistance Demonstration Conversion Transaction with the Housing Authority of Joliet, IL
The RAD transaction will preserve 113 affordable rental homes for low-income seniors, allowing them to remain permanently affordable Units will be converted under PBRA. New construction and renovations will make units more accessible for people with mobility or sensory impairments. Read article
