New NMA services for 2012

Carrol VaughanHello! I'm glad to have this chance to share some of the things that are happening around Nan McKay & Associates in this almost new year — 2012! As you read in John's post, we are all looking forward to several new initiatives and changes in 2012.

Over the years, NMA has been working with our clients in a number of different ways. Of course, we're best known for the great training sessions we do throughout the country. What many people don’t realize is that NMA is also a professional services company, offering a variety of solutions for client needs.

In 2012, we want to find ways to work even more effectively and efficiently with your agency, so we can continue delivering housing opportunities to those members of the community who need rental assistance, help in achieving homeownership, or support in furthering their economic self-sufficiency.

This year NMA will be offering several new services, including:

  • New training sessions in Combined Funding (also referred to as "mixed financing" or blended occupancy) and Hearing Officer training
  • Re-tooled training sessions that focus on "how to do the job back at the office" and not just the rules and regulations
  • New products to make HQS and UPCS inspections easier and more efficient
  • A model Family Self-Sufficiency Action Plan
  • A maintenance cost tracker to help determine the amount of time and money spent on work orders
  • Program management, a service that several housing agencies are interested in as a very effective way to make shrinking administrative fees go further.

What we really want to achieve, though, is a continuing dialogue with our clients. And so, I'm asking for your input. What training, tool, or service would help you to accomplish your goals? What would you like to see NMA do differently in the training classes we offer? Which areas should we focus on that will make you more able to carry out your mission and meet your goals?

We want to hear from you! Please take a few minutes to give us your input. You can comment here, give us a call, or send an email, and we'll respond to every idea or thought. Thanks very much — and let’s talk!
