PIH Issues Guidance on Housing Persons Experiencing Homelessness
Notice PIH 2023-13 provides PHAs with strategies for expanding housing opportunities for individuals and families experiencing homelessness. The notice supersedes PIH 2013-15 and includes updated guidance on waitlist management, screening policies, termination policies, and pairing project-based vouchers with Continuum of Care supportive services. HUD Publishes Final NSPIRE Standards Notice
HUD has published in the Federal Register the official NSPIRE inspection standards notice, which serves as a complementary document to the NSPIRE final rule published in May. The final standards notice is one of three core subordinate publications to NSPIRE; the two remaining notices for scoring and administration are intended for publication this summer. Read standards
HUD Proposes Changes to FMRs Calculation Methodology
Per a notice published in the Federal Register, HUD is proposing two changes to the methods used to calculate fair market rents (FMRs). The first would be a change in the definition of “recent mover,” and the second would retain and expand the use of rent inflation factors calculated by private sector sources.
