HUD’s Office of Fair Housing and Equal Opportunity (FHEO) has started a new Fair Housing and Civil Rights page on the HUD Exchange. This page contains resources and trainings aimed at helping HUD program participants and the public understand fair housing and civil rights laws and regulations. View page
Biden-Harris Administration Announces New Initiative to Tackle Unsheltered Homelessness
ALL INside, a White House initiative to address unsheltered homelessness, is a key part of the federal strategic plan to reduce homelessness 25 percent by 2025 and ultimately build a country where every person has a safe and affordable home. The U.S. Interagency Council on Homelessness (USICH) will partner with six state and local governments to strengthen and accelerate local efforts to get unsheltered people into homes. Participating communities will receive tailored support for up to two years. In addition, the initiative will include new efforts to address major barriers to housing, health care, and other support for people experiencing unsheltered homelessness. Read article
HUD Announces New Details for 2023 Innovative Housing Showcase
HUD and National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) have announced the first round of exhibitors and other details regarding the Innovative Housing Showcase, an open-to-the-public event on the National Mall to raise awareness of innovative and affordable housing designs and technologies that have the potential to increase housing supply, lower the cost of construction, increase energy efficiency and resilience, and reduce housing expenses for owners and renters. Policymakers, housing industry representatives, media, and the general public are invited to attend. Read article
