Guidance on Applicability of VAWA 2022 to HUD Programs

HUD has published a document in the Federal Register highlighting key changes made by the recently enacted Violence Against Women Act Reauthorization Act of 2022. This document goes over key provisions applicable to housing programs and HUD’s plans to issue rules and guidance for implementation. HUD is seeking comments until Monday, March 6 to help develop additional regulations. Read article

 

Carbon Monoxide (CO) Device Decision Tree

HUD has posted a guide for determining safety requirements based on sources of CO and location, in compliance with Notice PIH 2022-01. The diagram shows instances when an owner is responsible for installing a device. Read article

 

HUD Closes RAD Conversion in Boston, MA, to Preserve 445 Affordable Rental Homes

HUD recently closed a RAD transaction with Boston Housing Authority to preserve and rehabilitate 445 deeply affordable rental homes. The RAD/Section 18 Blend makes the rehabilitation financially feasible. Homes will receive significant upgrades to kitchens, bathrooms, flooring, painting, and HVAC units. Read article
