PIH Issues Notice on EHV Service Fee Recapture, Revises Portability Policy
Notice PIH 2026-02 establishes the process for recapturing and reallocating unused EHV service fees and revises the EHV portability policy. Read more
HUD Extends Compliance Dates to Adopt Energy Efficiency Standards
In a notice published in the Federal Register, HUD announced an additional extension of compliance dates for adopting the updated energy efficiency standards for new construction in HUD-financed programs. Compliance dates for the FHA-insured multifamily, FHA-insured single family, public housing capital fund, and Section8 PBV programs are extended until December 31, 2026. Read more
HUD Releases NSPIRE Software Application Updates
REAC announced updates to NSPIRE software to improve system functionality and user experience. Time stamps are no longer required and have been removed, along with the Start/Stop button; inactive locations will be hidden in the mobile app; Smart Sync will no longer delete data from the mobile app or pull new inspections from Salesforce; and the system will now allow the same inspector to reinspect a property. HUD Posts Resources on Reasonable Accommodations
The Resource Library on the HUD Exchange has been updated with new resources on reasonable accommodations in public housing, including a resident and applicant fact sheet, PHA fact sheet, “Know Your Rights” poster, request form, determinations resource sheet, and request tracking log. Read more
