OGC Issues Notice on Interpretation of “Federal Public Benefit”
HUD’s Office of General Counsel has published a prepublication copy of a notice to set forth the interpretation that HUD will use for the term “federal public benefit” as used in Title IV of the Personal Responsibility and Work Opportunity Reconciliation Act of 1996 (PRWORA). The notice focuses on language related to aliens who are not “qualified aliens” being ineligible for any “federal public benefit.” Read more
