HUD issues five new PIH Notices at the end of 2024 on HOTMA and NSPIRE compliance, demo/dispo requirements, streamlined voluntary conversions, and occupancy optimization; a proposed rule on federal financial assistance is open for comments.
Notice PIH 2024-38 identifies the income and assets provisions of HOTMA that PHAs must comply with by July 1, 2025. HUD will issue further guidance on new deadlines for other provisions when the timeline for HIP completion and migration has been established. Read more
Notice PIH 2024-39 extends the compliance date for the inclusion of point deductions in physical inspection scores for new affirmative requirements to October 1, 2025 for public housing and multifamily programs. The new affirmative requirements include Fire Labeled Doors, Electrical—GFCI or AFCI, Guardrail, HVAC, Interior Lighting, and Minimum Electrical and Lighting. Read more
