PIH Issues Guidance on High-Rise Elevator Projects for Families with Children

Notice PIH 2024-36 outlines procedures for PHAs to request approval to develop public housing units in high-rise elevator structures to be offered to families with children, in the event that they are the only practical option. Read more

 

HUD Publishes Final Rule on 30-Day Termination Notice

A new final rule published in the Federal Register provides that PHAs and PBRA owners must give written notification to tenants racing eviction for nonpayment of rent 30 days before filing a formal judicial eviction procedure. The final rule goes into effect January 13, 2025. Read more

Veteran Homelessness Drops to Lowest on Record

Between January 2023 and January 2024, the number of veterans experiencing any form of homelessness dropped from 35,574 to 32,882—a 55.6% drop since 2010. Among unsheltered veterans, the number dropped 10.7%. Read more
