PIH Extends Deadline to Apply for Expedited Regulatory Waivers

Notice PIH PIH 2022-04 extends the deadline to apply for an expedited waiver to April 1, 2022. While no additional extensions will be issued (according to the document), PHAs may continue to request regulatory waivers after the deadline; they will simply not be subject to the expedited process. HUD Announces VMS Updates

HUD’s Financial Management Center recently advised PHA directors of upcoming changes to fields in the Voucher Management System (VMS). The updates, to be released March 25, 2022, will revise the names of existing fields, and add and delete others. Field changes are reflected in the updated VMS User Manual Quick Reference sent with the email. Read updated manual

A new resource from HUD provides an overview of emergency housing voucher (EHV) operating requirements, outline considerations for EHV program design at PHAs, and best practices for program implementation. Read guide

 

HUD Closes RAD Conversion Transaction with Cuyahoga Metropolitan Housing Authority

With their conversion through RAD, Cuyahoga Metropolitan Housing Authority will preserve 174 affordable rental units for low-income seniors in Cleveland, OH. Upcoming construction will include renovations to kitchens and bathrooms, electrical safety upgrades, and accessibility improvements. Read article

 

HUD Closes RAD Conversion Transaction with the Housing Authority of Kansas City, Missouri

In the final phase of a seven-part redevelopment process, the Housing Authority of Kansas City, Missouri and Brinshore Development will create a mixed-income site with 42 affordable homes. Each apartment will have in-unit laundry and Energy-Star-rated appliances, as well as access to community amenities and a full-time service coordinator from the Health Center. Read article
