The Treasury announces the end of the ERA2 period of performance; OIG issues audit reports on RAD PBV physical conditions and HCV source-of-income discrimination controls; and PD&R releases a case study on affordable housing for deaf residents.
With the closure of the ERA2 period of performance, grantees may no longer use ERA2 funds to provide financial assistance or services to renters. ERA2 final reports are due to the Department of the Treasury on January 28, 2026. Read more
HUD’s Office of Inspector General (OIG) has issued an audit report concluding that HUD should strengthen its oversight of the physical condition of public housing units converted to PBV under RAD. Recommendations include that HUD target projects for review, develop standardized monitoring policies, ensure reserves are adequately funded and consistently documented, collect data, and provide inspection reports. OIG has also issued an audit report assessing how PHAs have implemented controls to prevent discrimination against HCV holders in states with source-of-income discrimination laws. Read more
