HUD Updates Guidance on EIV Deceased Tenants Report Requirements

Notice PIH 2026-11 provides updated guidance and procedures that PHAs must implement to take appropriate action when a household member is reported as deceased. It emphasizes prompt follow-up and proper termination of assistance when applicable. Read more

 

HUD Proposes Revisions to Equal Access Rule

HUD has published a proposed rule to remove the definitions of gender and gender identity from HUD regulations, to be replaced with sex, and permit housing providers with sex-specific facilities to require evidence of an individual’s sex. Comments are due June 29, 2026. Read more

 

HUD Opens Application Process for Additional Flexibility II Cohort Slot

Notice PIH 2026-13 outlines the selection process for one new slot opening in the fifth cohort of the Moving to Work Expansion. The MTW Flexibility II Cohort tests the effects of MTW flexibilities on participating PHAs and residents, with a focus on administrative efficiency. The selected PHA must implement work requirements and/or term limits for non-elderly, non-disabled adults in its program within the first year of MTW designation.
