Notice PIH 2026-03 provides guidance on when property owners and HUD staff must respond to notification that a resident under age 6 has been found to have an elevated blood lead level. Read more
Notice PIH 2026-04 rescinds Notice PIH 2024-17 and its streamlined submission and review process for PHAs to request certain regulatory waivers that expedited admissions of unhoused people into the HCV, PBV, and public housing programs. Per a notice in the Federal Register, the effective date of the interim final rule published February 26 is indefinitely delayed, and the interim final rule itself will now be treated as a proposed rule; comments remain open until April 27, 2026. The rule would have revoked the 30-day notice requirement for lease termination due to nonpayment of rent. Read more

An updated Procurement Handbook for public housing agencies replaces the 2007 handbook. The new edition is revised to align with the latest 2 CFR Part 200 rules, covers PHAs as recipients of federal awards, and applies previously exempt procurement requirements to Section 8 HCV program administrative fees, along with several other changes.
