Legislative Update with Nan McKay

While serving as executive director of a Minnesota housing authority, Nan McKay started one of the nation’s first Section 8 programs. She has previously written for the NMA blog on the topic of executive management and high performance achievement in the HCV program as well as stories from her fifty years in the housing industry.

Sammie Szabo joined NMA five years ago after retiring from a four-decade career in the affordable housing industry. With longstanding expertise in complex topics such as project-based vouchers and mixed finance, Ms. Szabo was instrumental in the design of two new NMA seminars focusing on those subjects, Blended Occupancy Management and Developing and Managing Project-Based Vouchers. Nan and Sammie will be presenting the following session at the 2014 NMA and GoSection8 Housing Conference.

At last year's conference, one of the most popular sessions was Nan's review of recent regulations, guidance, and breaking news. We're bringing her back this year to fill us in on the most important notices of 2014, including biennial HQS inspections, the final capital fund rule, the new flat rent requirements, and a forecast of what she sees ahead for our industry in 2015 and the second half of the decade.

Our free one-on-one consulting sessions at the second annual NMA and GoSection8 Housing Conference in Chicago are filling up fast!
